I’m on a kick and I just can’t get enough of this high protein snack.
I personally find prepackaged jerky to be weird in texture and oftentimes, too salty, smokey or sweet. I also like to know what’s going into my snacks, so I wanted to try making it myself.
Guys, it’s so easy. if you enjoy beef jerky as I do, you’ve gotta try this .
AND you can always adjust the marinade to suit your taste.
This one is what I came up with after a few attempts and works for me.
BEEF JERKY RECIPE
2 lbs of beef sliced 1/8 in thick
(I like eye round but flank steak also works well)
MARINADE
1/4 Cup low sodium soy sauce
2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
2 TBS red wine vinegar
1/4 CUP brown sugar
1 TBS liquid smoke
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp sea salt
2 tsp cracked black pepper
Slice meat, marinate overnight and then dehydrate or bake on a baking rack in an oven at 160 degrees for 3-4 hours – or until it reaches the preferred texture.
