I am definitely one of those who could easily push thinking about financial planning for the future onto tomorrow’s to-do list! Life gets busy, and it’s so easy to put off those trickier and “later” decisions. But sooner than you think will happen, “later” becomes today and financial wellbeing becomes a focus that benefits from the same care and attention we give to our health, our loved ones, and our careers. Especially as many of today’s 50-year-olds are living busier lives with younger kids, more travel and demanding careers and like me, can easily be distracted from thinking about the future and what we would like it to look like.
Despite most us getting advice on life decisions such as buying a holiday, the research says that only one in three of us are getting advice on our pensions! I’ve found the advice I’ve received ahead of turning 50 extremely helpful as I plan towards the next chapter of life.
