When @porshwoodman’s the one doing the fan-girling 🤣 Awesome to have @jacindaardern and her whānau back in the stands supporting us at another Rugby World Cup. Kiwi connections while on the road, always making us feel a little closer to home 🖤 #RWC2025 | #LetsGoAgain

Really excited to be joining Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government World Leaders Circle. It’s a three year affiliation but with just the one gathering per year. Oxford has created this bipartisan network of leaders to share lessons learned, and contribute to thinking around the deep challenges we face as a global community. Through the Christchurch Call community’s work to eliminate terrorist and violent extremism content online I have worked with the Blavatnik School in the past. Joining this group will not only provide an opportunity to strengthen these connections, it will give me a chance to work alongside a new generation of leaders – students from over 60 different countries – interested in enhancing governance through empathetic leadership. Such an exciting opportunity that I’m really grateful for.
It’s been a long time in the making, but in one week’s time Mum’s Busy Work will be out! Even though it will come out simultaneously in New Zealand/Australia, the UK and USA, there are three different covers (and two different spellings of mum, as featured in the pics!) While I am of course very attached to the text, which is based on the things my daughter used to say to me as a working mum, I love the illustrations. The incredibly talented Ruby Jones has brought to life this simple story about a child figuring out what their mum does. You can preorder now (link in my bio) and for every book sold in New Zealand, I’ll be making a $3 donation to the Kindness Collective. I hope you find as much joy in this book as I found creating it with @penguinkids @penguinbooksnz @penguinbooksaus @macmillankidsuk

Since it screened at the NZ International Film Festival, a few people have asked me how they can see the documentary called Prime Minister (which is a pretty intimate portrayal of my time in office…as captured by this image of me in the film, heavily pregnant and very disheveled.) Well, good news! @universaldocumentaries will be rolling the film out via @rialtocinemasnz Previews are from 19th-21st Sept & then it screens nationwide from the 25th of Sept. You can head to https://www.rialto.co.nz/Cinemas to learn more Thanks of course to those who made the film, and to those now sending it out into the world. My cousins can now officially stop asking me how they can see it 🙂

Pretty special to have a visitor in town today, and have an excuse to tag along to an Otago University Alumni event. Wonderful to see you my friend!
I wrote a piece for The Guardian on two things – the work I’ve been doing with the IRC on maternal mortality in humanitarian crises, and the need to end the horror that too many children are born into, and that includes the genocide in Gaza. I’ve been asked about Gaza many times over the last few months, and for good reason. I’ve given views in podcasts and interviews, but I’ve tried to sum it up here: “In the coming weeks leaders will gather for the UN General Assembly. And as they do, we must continue to call on those with power to respond to these humanitarian crises, ranging from the conflict in Ukraine to natural disasters caused by the climate crisis. We should start with Gaza. There is a path to stopping the genocide still happening daily before us: more countries must recognise Palestinian statehood; any co-operation that facilitates military action must end; humanitarian aid needs to urgently reach the trapped and starving; and medical care must be available for the injured, the malnourished, and for the expectant and new mothers.” Simply put, the genocide must end.
Felt so proud cheering for this incredible team in Bristol today. There’s just something about the Black Ferns – so much energy, pride and joy all rolled into one, and supporters get to be part of all of it. Thank you @blackferns I hope you felt all the love in that stadium and beyond 🖤
So happy to have Mum’s Busy Work out in the world. And while i’m in New York (with all the M-O-M versions) I still carry my M-U-M version with me everywhere I go. Thanks again @rubyalicerose for making this book what it is ❤️

I’m into my second year as a member of the @EarthshotPrize team. It’s been such a privilege to meet and support so many innovators and advocates who work tirelessly on behalf of our plant. And this year we’ll be celebrating them in Brazil for the 2025 Awards! You can find out more here: www.earthshotprize.org #EarthshotRio
