Can’t believe I was in the presence of so many childhood idols at once. From Andrea Bocelli, singer of the first song I ever fell in love with, to Jennifer Hudson, dueting with him (😵💫), to chatting with #thee diva @naomi
And so much reverence and gratitude for the honorable Graça Machel, who stood on the stage and called for a Free Palestine, Free Congo, and Free Sudan.
I was seated behind her for the show, and before the concert started, her friends kept reassuring her, “you’re going to be fine! It’s going to be okay.” I thought maybe she might just have stage fright. To know in that moment she was bracing herself for I’m sure felt like an immense feat is humbling. Grace for the world means every act of bravery we can muster, and Machel was exemplary.
*** I eventually melted. Andrea and Jennifer, how could you not?!
