What if life is great?
What if it’s amazing?
What if we can choose
Rather than being chosen.
What is chosen?
Is it a glance between strangers on a dreary day in New York City?
Is it buying that necklace on the beach in Oaxaca that you don’t want because no gracias doesn’t feel like enough?
Or does it require more?
Is it those brutal moments of potential energy —
Like when your little girl bounces on your bed at 8 o’clock sharp full of feral glee after doing jumping jacks for two hours trying to figure out how to make the clock move?
Oh how whimsical to be young again.
To meet every day like it’s your first.
Perhaps it’s time to take off this crusty skin suit
To uncup the Russian dolls I jumped in with age without understanding that I did this to myself.
For every tree is a seed and every seed is a tree.
And that little girl, is actually me.
