I got to spend a lot of time around Anne when I was a kid. My dad toured with her for most of my childhood. So I got to spend many days and evenings either at her shows, rehearsals, sometimes at her house. I would always love to play on the stage during rehearsals at Massey Hall or the Hummingbird Center or some other iconic venue- and then watch the show come alive at night. I was always so enamored when she would come out and do a cover of ‘Fever’. It’s when she would get out her top hat, wand, and her sequined jacket with the coattails. It was magical! Her music was quite literally the soundtrack of my life for a period of time. And now I get to play Hippo in The Bathtub and Teddybear Picnic for my daughter! Haha!
