Our weeks in the depths of the jungle was one of extreme intensity, obstacles, endurance, anacondas, blood, guts, awe, and in the end, true reward. I am one to get quickly overstimulated, I’m still working on it, and I found this song – this album – a way in which to help ground me.
Everyone you see here gave their ALL, and then some. Five months into our epic shoot, and there we were, amidst this ancient landscape, relying on each other to bring this story to life. If you thought we used green screen – oh, think again.
I can’t express in words the gratitude I feel towards EVERYONE who dedicated themselves to this particular shoot. Watching this crew work with such talent and dedication floored me every day. I really relied on each and everyone’s strength, positivity, work-ethic, and kindness during these weeks when my personal endurance struggled to keep up. It’s shoots like these where we are gifted the ability to grow not just as artists, but as human beings. To band together and push ourselves harder than we thought possible.
The lessons and teachings I gained from this job are immense. They are still showing up in my life today. With OBSTACLE comes GROWTH, and having a job that allowed me to experience the highs and lows of creativity – the powerful gift of DETERMINED COMMUNITY – is a blessing I will never lose sight of.
