Now, I hate that I even have to say this, but I’ve seen the comments: yes, my body has changed. Bodies change- for countless reasons. What I find frustrating is that instead of centering the conversation on what I said and the work I’m doing, people still want to reduce me to how I look.
I am more than my body. I am my voice, my work, my motherhood, my community, my love for showing up in the world exactly as I am. That is what should matter most.
At the end of the day, I hope my presence reminds someone out there-teen, adult, whoever- that you are worthy, right now, in the body you have. And that taking up space, in every sense of the word, is powerful. 💖 #effyourbeautystandards
