Yumna Al-Arashi Instagram – Two summers ago a friend of ours took his own life, rattling our entire world. Some months later, in autumn, a genocide began unfolding before our eyes, revealing a dark and shameful side of humanity which became apparent in our daily lives. In a stream of frantic grief and uncertainty I wrote a proposal to create a new work – rage. Everything felt like it was closing in on itself more than it had already been, not that anything was really truly going well before. Still, something big had shifted in me and the world around me, a feeling I knew was echoing in so many of us. I didn’t know what else to do but follow a desire to let my body and my work submit, leaning into feeling everything all at once; all good all bad, all ugly and beautiful. Together with my family at @hillton_ and all the 100 people who joined us, we made this work, rage. This weekend we finally got to show it in its full glory for the first time at the @ducatoprize. It will be up until November and my bad iPhone documentation can’t encapsulate how beautiful the installation is. Thank you to @yanik.cu for holding this work since day one, to @fabiotozzodp for your cinematic brilliance, to @jenni_tschugmell for your incredible styling which tied everything together perfectly, to @yonca.sophia for your patience with this edit, to @iamkelseylu for your beautiful and haunting composition, to @ninacutkovic at @jinglejunglestudios for piecing together the sound so masterfully, to @________epilogue for the most beautiful color grade. Thank you to @giacomopigliapoco and the whole team at @ducatoprize for supporting this work as well as the brilliant design of @fosburyarchitecture . Thank you to the hundreds of others who supported this work in solidarity.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned through this work is that the root of all rage is love. May we forever rage. | Posted on 23/Sep/2025 18:38:25
