many of us are part of generations that lived after civil rights, Roe & more protections were already in place. Our elders tried to spare us from having to know that kind of life—or the many sacrifices one must make to secure our freedoms.
but Coretta Scott King reminds us that “freedom must be won with every generation.”
So if you’ve never boycotted, protested, or engaged in direct action before, let tomorrow be a first step and a day one.
consider it exercise—to build the muscle for the season to come.
If you never had the muscle, now’s the time to get in the gym.
