Denyce Lawton Instagram – Just heartbroken! 💔💔 If you didn’t have the honor or privilege to have met , know, be friends with or be in the same room with Malcolm-Jamal Warner aka Miles Long… you truly missed out knowing or being in the presence of a real life King and good human being. He was private with his family and I loved that he chose to preserve & protect them in this way… he’s one of the few people I learned that from… he truly lived in gratitude.
There wasnt a time we ran into one another that I didnt get a respectful big brother bear hug off the ground, walked to my car if I was alone, or get knowledge of something profound!!!
I have a zillion photos in my phone that looking for one with me and him would take forever to find 😭but I want to honor him with sharing something about him for those who didnt know him. This man was a guy I grew up watchimg on tv, like many, that was the coolest older brother I wish I had too… and then he became a peer and friend out here but all in all… he is someone Ive admired and respected from day 1. This is a hard one to accept for so many reasons. To some, he will be just a celeb who passed and a void on TV but to many of us, there will be a void in our hearts and lives thats incomprehensible . He wasn’t one of my best friends or the closest friend, and with how I’m feeling, I can only imagine what those closest to him could possibly feel . This wont feel fair. He was a real life King amongst men! Kind, great energy, positive, loved educating his people with compassion and knowledge, funny and multi talented! Oh if you’ve never seen a performance of his then you missed out on true passion for music and poetry he had and HE WAS REALLY GOOD!!! His baritone always grabbed your attention & soul! In a city and industry filled with people that hasn’t always been kind or welcoming to me, he was! Always! You’ll be missed terribly 😭.😭😭.
