Georgie Henley Instagram – more memories, more love!!! This show was special to me for so many reasons – Iman and Hannah created something that RESONATED every single time we performed it, what a miracle to look out into a theatre and see queer people leaping to their feet, eyes shining, honouring these characters and their story. During the first shows I was taken with the amount of young queer people showing up, being so excited to say hello and share their thoughts. But as the run went on I was most moved by the hundreds of lesbian couples, particularly the OWLS, who sat with their hands clasped, smiling and drinking in the space, a space that felt like it was FOR THEM. I’ve never done a professional play with other actors onstage, only monologues, and being part of this group of performers was so humbling and enriching. What a playful, sensitive, intelligent, conscientious, sillybilly bunch, I remember calling my mum after the first week saying, ‘and I’m in the same room as them!’ I will never forget the joy of singing our hearts out together. The best time with the best crew, all working so hard to make this play the very best it could be.
