AND… I AM SERIOUS ABOUT RETIRING. After over 30 years of stand up, it’s time to slow down and just take a step back. I no longer enjoy the constant travelling, I no longer feel safe touring the US, & I also feel disillusioned with this industry and which comedians are elevated to stadium filling status, & I’m just tired of working this hard! But having said that, I AM HAPPY. Despite the recent hardships I’ve endured, I’m having a great life, & on this burfday I’m zeroing in on what I want from what is left of it. So going forward, I’m just gonna act on TV, maybe write some more scripts, and do lil bits and pieces when I feel like it. I’m not saying I will never do stand up again. I love it too much. But you’ll be lucky to see me on one comedy festival a year, or the odd event.
As @deoncole says, I’m lucky if I have 20 good summers left, so I’m gonna spend them doing what I want to do, which right now is hanging with the 92%, chillin’ & protecting my peace.
