Our mothers, and our mothers’ mothers, carried so much. Strength, yes. But also silence. Pressure. Expectations. Pain they had to bury just to keep going. Love that sometimes came with conditions. Protection that sometimes looked like distance.
I’ve seen firsthand how generational trauma weaves its way into families—how it shows up in the way we speak (or don’t), how we love, how we survive.
But here, in this moment with my lil Coco, something new is happening. I’m not just raising her. She’s helping me re-raise parts of myself. She’s learning that softness is strength, that love can be safe, and that vulnerability is not weakness—it’s connection.
We are breaking patterns without even saying the words. And we are building a bond that I pray will echo through every generation after us.
It’s not perfect. But it’s powerful. It starts here.. and I am so grateful this is now my life 🥹🫂
