3 years ago today there was a point that I wasn’t sure I’d make it but very grateful for the amazing care from doctors, support from friends and my sister who was there pretty much 24/7 with me! Thx @jennaezarik !!
My diagnosis is thoracic outlet syndrome but there are many things that can lead to blood clots. Like prolonged immobility (long flights!), surgery, cancer, smoking, pregnancy, hormonal birth control, family history, obesity, age, genetic disorders and more.
Signs and symptoms can vary depending on the location. Pain, swelling, redness, shortness of breath (if the clot travels to your lungs), headaches, weakness, numbness, difficulty speaking (it clot has traveled to your brain).
Basically if you THINK something is wrong, don’t wait to seek help. I waited a few days after first noticing symptoms but brushed it off because I was “busy” 😳 I definitely won’t do that again!
I have had to alter some activities I do to avoid possible repercussions but for the most part I am back and doing more than I ever have before! Took awhile to get back to this point but worth it 🙏🏻🩸 | Posted on 01/Apr/2025 23:20:24
