People treating my mother like trash, as if they themselves are in fact perfect beings, as if they have no skeletons in their own closets. 🤍 My mother isn’t perfect, but she’s shown me what love is. Love for yourself, for your family, for your people, for our Mother Earth. Her love has never ever wavered, it’s deep and forever kind, even when her own kids are being rotten and we are taking our frustrations of the world out on her she’s still there. 🤍 Once when I was a kid she looked me in the eyes and said, “I would kill for you,” and fuck man, I knew she was serious. 🤍 She is a force. People love her and people love to hate her. She’s got opinions and rubs people the wrong way but once she sets her sights on something she fights until she wins. 🤍 And much to some people’s chagrin she has raised four equally as intense and passionate daughters who have kids of our own now, none of us perfect my any means , we are products of someone who has put up with a lot of shit but still comes out the other side smiling, pissing all her haters off. 🤍 I love you mom, in all your perfect imperfections. You have taught me so much, among those things you taught me grace and the best ways to be vain. 🤍 I’m in awe of you, especially now that I’m a mom and have an idea of what you did to break the cycles and decolonize your own home and how you chose to raise us.
