LG Diary 01 – Inner Monologue ✍🏼💭 this one’s a scary one for me but here we go. i think sharing while in process is something that’s a bit scary for all of us these days. i’ve always been one to retreat into solitude during the messy bits of life, especially while creating. managing carefully who gets to see what and when. to some degree, controlling perception along the way as much as i could help it. in the process of piecing together this upcoming album and reframing my relationship with music, i’ve needed that solo time to gain clarity but there’s also been a quiet yet persistent whisper in my heart telling me that there’s value in me documenting and sharing some of the messy, imperfect process of creating as i go. over the last few years, i’ve felt the ping to practice testing my edges when it comes to my comfortability around sharing “works in progress” be it a song, a scene, an idea, or even just a feeling with a friend. as simple as it may seem relatively, it’s something that still kinda terrifies me. something tells me i’m not alone in feeling challenged by that. ironically, it may be the biggest reason i return to making art, because it forces me to find ways to express what i sometimes can’t find words for again and again… feels like a good time to invite you all into this part of my process. welcome to the long run on sentence of my mind, for whoever’s listening. comment below if you ever feel your heart rate rising just thinking about sharing what’s on your mind…
