Bathed in pigs blood running down her acne-ridden face and fat body, Carrie White should be in a puddle of her own despair on floor. That’s what her classmates thought she would do, wasn’t it? Lay down and wait to die like an animal, all while they pointed and laughed.
How deeply sick and poetic that her tormentors didn’t really know who she was until it was too late.
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of her own wishful thinking, Carrie is no longer afraid of who she really is. She’s become the very monster they all accused her of being. All of them – her mother, her classmates, even God – left her with no other choice.
You tried so hard to be good, my sweet Carrie. You walked on eggshells and gave this world everything you had, and it still wasn’t enough. But I know a secret you will soon discover yourself. Who you are, in all of your horrifying and holy glory – no one can take that from you.
And it’s almost strange, how quiet it is now.
They aren’t laughing at anything anymore.
