Michelle Obama Instagram – Writing my new book, The Look, gave me the chance to reflect on my lifelong journey with fashion, hair, and beauty—from growing up on the South Side to serving as First Lady in the White House to what I wear today. While the looks have changed, it’s always been important to me to use style as a language to share who I am and what I believe.
Today, I’m thrilled to announce a special six-part limited podcast series, IMO: The Look, which will be released weekly starting on November 5th. We’ll expand on the themes of the book and feature conversations with the creative minds from my behind-the-scenes team, including my co-author and wardrobe stylist @meredithkoop, hair stylists @yenedamtew and @kitchentalkwithnjeri, and makeup artist @carlraymua. We’ll also hear the stories of fashion visionaries including @NinaGarcia, @JaneFonda, @BethannHardison, @JennaLyonsnyc, and @ElaineWelteroth. This limited series explores the importance of representation and inclusivity — particularly during this moment when many voices are under threat of being silenced.
