Still riding high from this past weekend ❤️🔥 I had no clue how this was going to go when I reached out to @karatehottiemma and @alex__barcelona about this idea. I just knew there was a need & I wanted to help! Turns out, I wasn’t the only one that thought this was needed I believe that self defense is self care! We had 50 women come together for this event. Most had never done anything like this before and truly had no idea what to expect. Some were nervous. Some came alone or brought their friends and family. But the best part is that they showed up for themselves in such a big way! One of my biggest missions with protectHER event was to show that being feminine and knowing how to protect yourself aren’t opposites, they coexist. Owning your body in every way is REAL confidence. You can be soft and powerful It’s not simply about specific techniques, even though that could be what saves your life, it’s about ownership, presence and awareness. let’s be real, this is not something you learn once and never think about again. It takes time to drill into your mind and body how you would respond, if god forbid, something happened to you. Feeling safe in your body comes from dedication and practice. And after all that , we got pampered by my fav spots in Nashville! B12 shots, cold plunges, massages, cupping, juices, giveaways…we did it all! Because we can! It was all in support of @thistlefarms. A nonprofit that helps women survivors heal and rebuild their lives. Huge thanks to our world class instructors, donors, eveyone that showed up and to @itslunaaura for keeping the train on the tracks & holding my hand through it all! This was more than a self-defense class. It was a reminder that you’re not alone. And that we can do hard things… together.
