Miranda Hart

Miranda Hart Instagram – I had many extraordinary moments in 2024. One of them was a hotel stay above Lake Garda @lefayresorts I never saw myself as a swish Italian Lakes kind of a person (!) but the fabulous @healingholidays suggested it as a great place to unwind when getting back to work proved hard on my body.

One of the reasons I wrote my book was to demystify and simplify the often overwhelming wellness industry for myself. I was too unwell to travel for many years and had to find ways for joy and meaning despite restriction. I know holidays are an enormous privilege. Especially when you get to plunge into pools of various temperatures and have incredible treatments – my fav being the saltwater float. I bobbed and smiled like a massive but weightless baby!

What I learnt at the glorious and stunning @lefayresorts was that many of the things that were there, were in my sick room – a view (though Lake Garda wins over a West London tree!), gratitude for small things, deep breaths, slow pace, lie in the sun (when it comes out in the UK), letting my body sink into a bed, stare at the moon, soak in the moment by listening (though Garda crickets win over London’s mating foxes), play games with a best friend, a sip of wine or refreshing juice, and on. Now I know more than ever the privilege of having a holiday, I will always make sure to bring it back with me and think of the ways to give back too. That way, holidays really do feel healing. They really can be a reset.

If you are lucky enough to consider one this year I can wholly recommend Lefay Spa at Lake Garda. I still miss the women at the spa desk! They really do have your health as a priority and will suggest programmes and treatments and ways to rest and reenergise, wherever you are at. Here’s to a relaxing, kindly 2025. One day at a time. ❤️ | Posted on 30/Dec/2024 18:26:46
