Vinodhini Vaidynathan Instagram – Every single slur, abuse targeted towards a woman is designed in such a way as to SHAME her. Shame her for her being, her doing, her knowing. Shame her for the ways in which she’s a woman, for the ways she does things in life and for the knowledge she holds.
The key then, to get out of the cycle of abuse is, to UNSHAME ONESELF. To know that one is enough, with all one’s body’s, mind’s, life’s faults, and triumphs, and just be enough for oneself. To wake up everyday in the belief that you’re enough for yourself. That there is no shame attached to being you, doing you. That there is only freedom to be more of you, do more of you.
Every time an aggression or a micro aggression happens, to know that it is yet another way of the world to SHAME a woman into silence, to shame a woman into submission. To UNSHAME is freedom. To UNSHAME is life.
