Anasuya Bharadwaj Instagram – What started as my first ever solo trip.. with a group of strangers (almost) curated by @ns4trips .. became one of the soul-stirring journeys of my life!! As we drove through the outer ring road of Iceland.. every turn felt like stepping into a painting.. From the thunderous Dettifoss.. Europe’s most beautiful waterfalls.. to the serene beauty of the vast green valleys.. ancient lava fields.. snow-capped peaks.. never ending Highlands..(missed my husband for sure).. the most magnificently beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen!!
There were these sheep scattered across the luscious green highlands like little wandering marshmallows 😄 And the horses!! Oh the wild Icelandic horses.. grazed and galloped freely through the open fields.. their manes flowing like something out of a dream (I was almost so jealous)!!!
I have to elaborate as much as I can of my experiences in Iceland which I feel even if I write a book on it.. It still feels short of what it actually felt experiencing!!
I hiked across these hills.. many of which names I don’t remember for obvious reasons 🫣🫣( Hello! Icelandic!! Very difficult to even pronounce!!) .. walked through the lava fields.. stood (jumped) under the shimmering Northern lights!!! Found myself walking on a glacier.. literally ancient ice.. feeling small.. yet wildly alive!!
I soaked in the milky warmth of the Blue Lagoon!!! Traced the steps of Vikings at a make-believe-yet-so-real Viking colony!!! Trekked through some of the most breathtaking trails I’ve ever seen!! Some of them made me overcome acrophobia!! Every path leading not just deeper into Iceland.. but deeper into me too 🥹🫠
It’s hard to believe especially when it comes to me.. how I acquainted with strangers and made some really good friends.. and how the unknown became unforgettable!!
This trip transformed me.. to re-discover myself!!
Here’s to chasing wonder.. saying yes to new beginnings and finding beauty in the wild!!
