Bria Vinaite Instagram – About a month ago little Peeps unexpectedly got really sick. It started with a weird patch of fur on her forehead. Her vet tested her for so many things and everything came back negative. I was at a loss of what to do. Penelope was suffering and getting wounds on her entire body. She had a fever and no energy – she wouldn’t even bark at the mailman and that’s her absolute favorite activity 🫠 anyways once the vets test came back negative I freaked out and found @animaldermatologygroup and Peeps wonderful doctor Dr. Dubin immediately did biopsies for Pemphigus foliaceus which is a rare autoimmune disease where her immune system attacks her skin cells and causes her fur to fall off. The biopsies came back positive and after multiple tries of different meds Peeps seems to be in remission!!! Just a week ago I thought there was no hope and she’s 3 days into no cone, lots of energy and playtime and barks and snuggles. I’m so grateful for being able to get a proper diagnosis and the correct medicine 😭 this has been such a rough month and I’m so happy little Peeps is doing better.
