I am thrilled to announce that my solo exhibition, The Dying World, will open at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Saturday, November 8th. I cannot wait to finally share this forgotten world. 🐦⬛ The Dying World opens November 8th, 2025. Set within the grounds of Hollywood Forever Cemetery, this nighttime exhibition takes form as an ephemeral house constructed uncannily behind the Cathedral Mausoleum, transforming into a living dreamscape where memory and imagination merge. Inside, the character Astrid inhabits a space suspended between liminal worlds; her bedroom becomes both set and sanctuary, echoing Tsai’s own childhood home and the fragments of a film still unfolding. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, and whimsically crafted puppets, the installation blurs boundaries between subject and object, fiction and maker. Loops of stop-motion imagery pulse across vintage monitors and projection screens, creating an atmospheric environment that is at once active workshop and psychic landscape within a familiar domestic setting. Rather than telling a story on a traditional timeline, The Dying World invites sensation, ritual, and stillness.
