The PP and the Conservative Party plan to defund the CBC in favour of private broadcasting that answers only to shareholders and advertisers and NOT to the Canadian People.
Our country, our economy and our culture are at risk on many fronts right now. It has never been more important to stand up for what belongs to all Canadians and not just the privileged few. Private media answers to shareholders, their priority is business NOT the Canadian People. The CBC answer to ALL CANADIANS.🇨🇦
I’ve heard people say that $1.4 billion in funding sounds like a lot of money but it breaks down to $33 per Canadian per year and is only 0.12% of the government’s budget. 0.12% of the budget to protect our citizens right to news, entertainment and programming that is responsible to them and them alone. Please do not vote for the parties that will take this gift away from us.
