Pauline Chalamet Instagram – as far as places you can be stranded when a project you’ve flown half way across the world for falls apart, portugal is pretty dang nice. thankful for the most amazing fish i’ve ever eaten, for évora’s chapel of bones, for lisbon’s unparalleled tile game, for my hotel rooms, for paul beatty’s The Sellout, for han kang’s The Vegetarian, for the New Yorker on my nook (yes, i still have a nook and yes, i still read cover to cover), for rosalia’s new album, for lily allen’s new album and for all the new people i’ve met. shoutout to sasha and lena who i overheard talking about boys at a restaurant and with whom i finished one of my many meals. one takeaway from this unpredictable solo adventure is TO BEFRIEND STRANGERS. our lives are much fuller when we welcome new people with open arms instead of being wary and distrusting of the world. there’s more to love than to be afraid of.
