Mark your calendars because you’ll be in Trouble if you miss Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory guest programming rage this weekend! It’s been a whole decade since the New Jersey born, LA based artist first hosted the show in 2015, and this time she’s joined by her band The Attachment Theory following the release of their self-titled album, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, earlier this year. The record marks the first time Sharon has written and recorded an LP in total collaboration with her band, and now they’re bringing that collaboration straight to the red couch. Together they’ll be sharing a stack of their favourite music videos as well as clips that have influenced their new record, their careers, and their lives. Wellington We ended our Australia leg and began our New Zealand run in Wellington, returning to The Opera House to share the stage with @shanny2dope! What a beautiful, timeless voice… I rolled the dice on a thai stir fry at an airport but must have eaten way too many chili peppers because I got the worst heartburn of my life and thought I was having a heart attack – adult that I am, I went to the chemist for a change, and the woman there was super helpful and gave me something that helped quell my terrible chest pain. Thankfully I had the stamina for the show, and the warmth of the audience helped me through my moments of uncertainty and feelings of mortality. On the lighter side, a kind man named Brandon offered me a spare room when I said I wished I could stay longer. “Don’t worry” he said “I’m gay”… “and married” … Next time, Brandon!!! Went to a sweet spot for a fresh salad and smoothie at Floriditas. Helped me feel less off kilter. Also, highlight so far is reuniting with Matthew Crawley who looks after us while we are here. Always comforting to catch up with a long distance friend who opens new doors to new music and new places. It helps remind me how important connection is in this weird world.
