Fame took a devastating toll on the lives of Aaron and Nick Carter and their family. Aaron died in 2022 after battling addiction. A new @paramountplus documentary, “The Carters: Hurts to Love You,” shows how mental health struggles and addiction impacted the entire family. This has been a dream come true. I’m so excited to share that I am part of narrating STAYING GOLD: AN ORAL HISTORY OF THE OUTSIDERS. It has been an incredible honor to be on this journey with a project so very close to my heart. S.E. Hinton has always been a guiding force of inspiration to me, as a young woman growing up I loved drinking up the incredible world and characters she created. As a teenager I will never forget the day I met one of the kindest people that I had ever come across. He also happened to be my film hero, the phenomenal @francisfordcoppola he made me feel truly seen and heard at a time when others didn’t. I’ll never forget his warmth and the how it has echoed through my being for decades and of course @officialdannyboyoconnor Danny was one of the first who encouraged me to carry my camera everywhere I went and believed in me as an artist & film maker. To have this full-circle moment now feels like pure gold. Here he goes again encouraging me to use my voice. Thank you @officialdannyboyoconnor for your love, light, and years of showing me what it looks like to be there for those we love. So inspired by what you & @jimmie_tramel have created & I am humbled you invited me along for the ride. I love you, The Outsiders & @theoutsidershouse forever. This book also brought some of the most beautiful treasures into my life as it was turned into a tv series many years ago. At the big party for it I met my bestie @heatmccomb & of course the amazing @davidarquette who are both still such a meaningful part of my life, along with those that now watch over us with angel wings.
