This Thanksgiving we said goodbye to my sweet grandmother. She lived 5 minutes down the road growing up and filled my childhood with magic — her dress up chest was the best, her scrambled eggs unmatched, and her Christmas presents rivaled Santa’s. She paid generously for weed pulling and could talk politics with me without getting mad, even tho we voted differently. She had a way of making everyone feel included while staying unapologetically herself. As a little girl, she sang and danced; as an adult she owned her own salon, a dress shop, and raised 6 kids. She lived long and loved hard. Her love, laughter, and inclusivity inspire me and my family. This year I am especially thankful for the incredible memories she gave me and the legacy of love she leaves behind! 🤍 #thankful #family

I never quite know what to say when people ask me what I do. I usually fumble through something like: ‘Well, I’ve mostly been a mom these past 3 years… but I also run a nonprofit, teach, perform here and there, dabble in marketing and social media. I’m passionate about arts education, I’m writing a children’s book, and wrote a middle grade musical.’ But that’s far too long..so I just say “I’m a mom” (what would you say?). The truth is, I’ve been filling my creative cup in a hundred different (sometimes wacky, usually unbalanced) ways while raising my boys—and I’m really happy. Right now I’m building a cabaret, and my hope is that it brings people joy. Still learning, still recalibrating, still figuring out balance as I go. #motherhood #mombalance
After we left NYC & during the pandemic, I needed a creative project… so naturally, we bought a fixer upper. A few (hundred) late nights, some questionable DIY decisions, and way too many trips to Home Depot later—it’s finally home.
