While I do hope you find people who want to see this with you more than once, (I’m confident you will) I do hope by the second or third time- you read in between the humor and gore and simply consider. Consider yourself, your neighbor, traffic, prescriptions, subscriptions, animals, health, “leaders,” politics, religion, relationships, garbage, pollution
all that is toxic within your garden and perhaps tend to it. I am certainly tending to mine.
We shot this film the summer of 2021. My heart overflows for the wonderful people of Sofia, Bulgaria, our special crew that kept us alive and well at still the peak of one of the corona viruses, delta? I can’t remember. I embraced the solitude of being miles away from everything I knew and made my days off my own personal film/reading/exploring festival. I hung with Fellini, Bergman, Gus Van Sant, David Lynch, John Badham, Nancy Meyers, Cassavetes, Almodóvar, Hafiz poetry, Normandy crucifix of 1632 and more. I wrote every night. I ate dinner alone almost every evening. I started to become. I was avenging the toxic in my own world.
