Sanjeeta Bhattacharya Instagram – “Aamare banaile piriter dewana”…you’ve made me a fool for your love. I had the privilege of hearing Purna Das Baul sing this song live in front of us at a casual “adda” with my dad, over and a meal and conversations. Written by Nirmalendu Chaowdhury, even as a kid this song invoked nostalgia for memories I’d not yet lived and feelings I was yet to fully understand. During the Dear Diary Tour, I ended my set with this song. An ode to my roots, my father who taught me this song and to folk music that binds us together with love.
