Angelica Ross Instagram – The legal front is heating up. We cannot afford to lose, because if we do, there will be legal precedent to silence healthcare workers advocating for the right to health. My cases against UCSF will have long-lasting implications for academic medicine. UCSF has filed motions to dismiss my cases, and they continue harassing investigations to try to tarnish my 23 year career of outstanding clinical care—all because I openly criticized Israel’s genocide in Gaza and their largest donor is a genocidal billionaire. One of UCSF’s motions is an anti-SLAPP motion, which would require me to pay their legal fees if we lose. Those fees would go in part to the Paul Weiss law firm, the Trump-aligned lawyers who gave him $40 million in legal fees, which Trump is using to eviscerate US universities. This is the rightwing Project Esther in full force, brought forward by the same architects of Project 2025. We can only fight this together.
