Early morning reflections brought me to this photo of me at the Yavanika badminton court in Bangalore. This is where my badminton journey began. I have so many memories of being brought here as a little kid — straight from school — to train. Forever grateful to my parents for the love and effort they put in, juggling full-time jobs yet making sure I got the best of both worlds: a regular school life and the chance to learn this beautiful sport. Grateful to Yavanika for having a badminton court and being right next to my dad’s workplace — it made those countless trips to and from practice so much easier for my parents. And most importantly, deeply grateful to my first coach, the late Umapathi Sir, for laying the foundation and instilling the basics of badminton in me.
I love badminton so much that I’m always ready to play — even if I’m not dressed for it! 🤭 Happy National Sports Day! 🇮🇳
