Powerful words from my brother @corybooker who held the line for over 25 hours to call out Donald Trump’s cruelty and the GOP’s complicity.
I walked out.
One of my constituents stood up at our town hall and shared her story. Her pain was raw and her fear real. So many are hurting. This administration’s callousness and cruelty has a human toll. It’s hard to find words for these moments that don’t fall short. These are unprecedented times and I don’t have all the answers. But I will wake up every day thinking about your daughters, your families, and your struggles. And I will do everything I can to fight for you.
50,000 people came out in Boston today to send a message to Donald Trump and Elon Musk: Hands off. #handsoff #handsoffboston
Let’s call this what it is: Wholesale voter suppression. I voted NO. Implications of the SAVE Act below. 👇🏽 1. This bill requires people to present a passport, birth certificate, or other proof of citizenship when registering to vote or updating your voter registration (anytime you move to a new address or state). Your driver’s license or state ID alone would not be sufficient. 2. The bill could eliminate popular methods of voter registration, such as online, mail and registration drives. 3. This would make it harder to vote for rural voters, married women, the military, people of color, disabled people, and anyone who can’t afford to spend the extra time and money to get a passport or the necessary documentation to prove citizenship.
Apparently Republicans in Congress don’t read history books so I gave a quick lesson on why the Department of Education was created (and why destroying it would set us back decades).
Rümeysa Öztürk should be at home in Somerville celebrating Ramadan with her friends and community.
Michelle Wu earned my endorsement and I’m so proud to call her my Mayor.

Packed house in Roxbury today. This is what democracy looks like.
Discussing classified military action in a group chat is reckless and puts all of us at risk. Everyone involved should be investigated and Pete Hegseth must resign.
Donald Trump’s presidency continues to challenge all conventional understanding of executive authority. His administration’s extensive use of executive orders has reshaped the political landscape, testing established laws, ethical boundaries, and institutional norms. Among those raising alarms is Democratic @repayannapressley of Massachusetts, who has consistently questioned what happens when governmental powers are directed against the very citizens they were designed to protect. On this week’s episode of The Intercept Briefing, she discusses these concerns, including the administration’s immigration enforcement tactics targeting international students — among them, one of her own constituents. Rümeysa Öztürk, a Ph.D. candidate at Tufts University who has a valid student visa, was abducted off the street by ICE agents. Head to the link in our bio to listen to the full interview with Rep. Pressley. 🎨 @binaricorn 📷 Jemal Countess/Getty Images for MoveOn

Dedicated federal workers like Claire strengthen our communities and our country. And their experiences are a reminder of why we must keep pushing back on the Musk-Trump assault on our democracy.

My mother Sandy never read me fairy tales—she read me the speeches of Shirley Chisholm. She wasn’t just an historic presidential candidate. She was the first Black woman duly elected to Congress who lived in the 20th century and dared to be herself. Happy Birthday, Shirley. Thank you for the blueprint of unbought, unbossed, & unapologetic leadership.

While Trump and ICE attack our communities and rip apart families, I’ll always stand up for our immigrant neighbors.
From my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving to all of our neighbors gathering with loved ones today. I’m grateful to be your Congresswoman.
As a federal worker at HUD, Claire has spent her career helping folks in the MA-7th access fair housing. She is one of thousands who’ve been unjustly fired by Trump. Claire is my guest to Trump’s address tonight to show the human toll of Republicans’ assault on our federal workers and our democracy.
