Briana Evigan Instagram – A New Era for Chizarira National Park
@abundant_village.mm has formally entered a long term partnership with Defend to support the restoration and protection of Chizarira National Park, one of Zimbabwe’s most important and least resourced wilderness areas.
Covering nearly 1,900 square kilometres (500k acres), Chizarira is home to extraordinary biodiversity and communities whose future is inseparable from the health of the land. This partnership marks a decisive shift toward community led conservation, strengthening protection on the ground while investing in local people, governance, and long term ecological resilience.
This is not a short term intervention. It is a commitment to rebuild systems that endure, protect wildlife at scale, and ensure communities are partners, not bystanders, in conservation.
