This semester (only a few weeks left🫠) i’m heavily exploring where the expressive arts meet neuroscience. Did you know that music taps into the neuroplasticity of the brain and helps the brain reshape itself, inclusive of physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual needs? Music isn’t just enriching—it’s reparative. Music has the power to shape the brain, heal the mind and body, and connect us to something greater than ourselves. Music really is a healer! Did you know that you can pre plan EVERYTHING for your funeral? Hollywood Forever is my favorite cemetery because of all the unique graves and people that are at rest there. One of my favorite graves belongs to a man that is still very much alive. The former Journalist that owns this space took a second mortgage out on his home to make this 100,000 dollar plus granite tombstone, modeled after his couch at home and adorned by bronze daschusnds representing each and every one of his beloved pets. It’s in a super posh section of the cemetery, overlooking the pond in the Garden of Legends. He’s got a lot of fancy neighbors like DeeDee and Johnny Ramone, Jayne Mansfield and Vampira. His hope his that it will still bring people together, as his epitaph on the back reads. I live this idea and i’d visit my own grave often.
