Yesterday we watched Zootopia 2 at its premiere screening in Malaysia. We loved the first movie and was so excited to catch this one. It is a really really good follow up movie. So happy to see my fav characters back (my fav is Flash!) and so many new characters you will definitely love. Had a really nice chat with @toowayhonell this morning at brekkie.Decided to make a post about one of the things that we talked about while I’m still buzzed from the high level of caffeine and sugar from my Teh Tarik kurang kurang manis, otherwise I’ll probably only post it a year later. I shared this photo yesterday on my story. While I got a lot of hearts for this (TQ guys🥰) I also get comments like ‘why never comb hair’ ‘I can see white hair’, etc etc. I’ll be turning 50 in a few years. One of the things that I have been consciously doing since last year is reflect and think about how I want to live the second half of my life. One of them is learning, consciously,to grow old gracefully and accept everything that comes with growing older. Growing older is no fun, white hair, perimenopause, health changes, challenges in life, parenting and body. One of the biggest challenges is accepting that the looks I have been born with will not always be the same. And it’s really hard for me bcoz you may know that I spent the last 30ish years in a brutal and judgemental industry of modelling and acting. I have been blessed that I am photographed easily most of my life. I can take 30 selfies and usually almost all of them turn out good. This decade though, this is getting harder to come by. And I have to learn everyday to accept that. If you know me you will know that I am impatient when I take photos. When I ask people to take pics of me I will ask them to shoot non stop then I’ll say TQ. They will ask, you don’t need to check? I’ll say no need, one of them will turn out ok. It’s an inside joke with friends that I always have photos with messy background, laundry hanging in the background etc etc. that’s coz I didn’t care. All I cared about was GOOD LIGHTING. I’ll go where good lighting is, messy at the back or not. I’ll also say to friends, it’s ok la I’m not an influencer. But what I realised was that, I’m am influencing to a certain extent. We all are. Whether we have 10 followers or a million, what we choose to do and say everyday, do influence people around us. Whether it’s on socmed, our friends and in a big way, to little eyes watching us silently. Cont below
