I’ve always loved boots! Boots, boots, and more boots… I guess that’s why I like winter. Not for the cold weather but just because I can wear boots -don’t get me wrong; I like flip-flops too! Lol so easy in and out. But boots are just….sexy. You can take the most drab mundane outfit(which is definitely not this one!) and you can make it sexy with boots. It’s funny how life takes twists and turns. When I was a teenager in high school, I was a bookworm. Science, math -those were the important things to my family. When I was a senior, my mom wanted to know why I wasn’t taking a second language and advanced calculus… However, I think somewhere inside of me I’ve always been an artist. I love seeing people come up with ideas and being creative. That gives me a sense of well-being. Painting my apartment and building tables and picking couches and chairs made me realize that if I’m not being creative, I kind of curl up -I’m not as shiny as I should be! (And yes, I’m going to show you pictures of my finished department as it’s almost done finally after a year and a half.) But I think looking at this video made me realize how creative my collaborator is, @ezequieldelarosa And since I can’t draw straight line with a ruler, I can really appreciate people who can!

Shooting in the refurbished Ez Studios @ezstudios I guess this was the silver lining in that dark cloud that rained all over his studio and apartment! He’s got a beautiful new make up room too! In honor of Pope Francis, we’ve pulled our Tuesday Shoesday and have posted a more apropos video. The Pope was a shepherd, walking in the footsteps of Jesus; an example for us all to be kind, gentle servants to each other. I thought a video about common courtesy (which really isn’t so common these days) was more in line with the teachings of the Pope. My heart goes out, not just to Christians, but to every denomination as we need more kind, inclusive, spiritual leaders, like Pope Francis, who are thinking of the welfare of the people; who try to mend roads. I pray in his passing that we remember some of his teachings. That we can have peace – at least for the time while he’s lying in state.

Just hanging out in the sunshine… Today’s fashion reminds me that you never throw anything away. I’ve had this dress several times in my life; this hair, these shoes, I have worn on another day and another time in another fashion cycle. The face might change… As it does with everyone. I love old-fashioned glamour. I love the days of the “Star System” does anybody else remember the Star System? The Star System was when a movie company like Paramount or Warner Brothers put young actors under contract and they “groomed them”. They would teach them to sing , to dance, camera movements, acting; sometimes they would even pick boyfriends or husbands to be seen in the papers with. Yup. They even controlled their publicity. You never saw their underwear hanging out; you never saw a crotch shot getting in and out of a car. I don’t know about you, but I want to aspire upwards. I don’t want to feel better than people -I want to aspire upwards to be better. Sometimes the press knocks people down so we can all feel better about ourselves. I guess that’s the whole idea behind the news, isn’t it? Watching somebody else going through tragedy it makes your life look better. But I want people who inspire me. I think you can always tell when somebody feels good in what they’re wearing. So with that thought in mind, I went through my closet and I donated and gave to my friends and my sisters everything that didn’t make me feel good. I guess I did that because I always feel guilty when I don’t like something – and it draws me towards it to wear it! Is that crazy? It’s like when you don’t like somebody and you always try to be extra nice to them because you know you don’t like them.😂😂 and of course you don’t want them to know you don’t like them because you don’t want them to feel bad!!! Anyway, I digress. When I look at this photo, I knew I liked this dress. You could tell by how I stand; how I move. I think that philosophy holds true whether you’re in the studio or on the street.
