Here in Michigan, 750,000 people could lose access to health care.
 
The cuts would hit even harder in small town and rural Michigan where 37% of residents are covered by Medicaid. Behind each of these numbers are our friends and neighbors whose lives would be turned upside down.
 
Thanks to Medicaid, survivors of breast cancer can afford annual mammograms, more families can get dental care or visit a PCP, and parents can focus on getting their sick kid to the ER instead of worrying about the bill.
 
In short, Medicaid saves lives, lowers costs, and keeps us healthy and safe.
 
Michigan hospitals will lose half a billion dollars in Medicaid funding annually, threatening thousands of jobs.
 
Hospitals in rural communities across Michigan will close, threatening access to care, raising prices, and forcing people to drive further, even for emergencies.
 
Everyone agrees there is waste in government. But these aren’t strategic cuts. They’re massive, devastating slashes to a core program that saves lives.
 
This won’t make the government more efficient, it will just raise your costs, eliminate local jobs, and put lives in danger.
 
We are sending a clear message to anyone trying to trade your health care for someone else’s tax cut: Medicaid is not for sale.
