indhu Instagram – We weren’t each other’s first choice, no. This breed needs patience, routine and love and physical strength ..bucket loads of it. But we ended up together because we became each others’ safe haven when we felt lost and abandoned.
He is definitely not easy for someone like me.He is powerful and most times has no clue how much. Walks have led to hairline fractures. Trauma speaks loud and therefore, doctor visits , baths and medicine application are done with many hours of patient cajoling to let him calm down enough to trust a human .
He is better than he was..but those who met him will attest to the fact that he’s still loud, energetic , will bark at you ,block you and mainly make you question your choices. Inside is a pup who fears humans and he acts accordingly . Defensively. Because he was never anybody’s first choice and knew anger , impatience and ignorance. Most of my friends abandoned my home fearing him. It’s natural , on both sides.
Once you overcome all the loudness and show of aggression on his surface , there are friends of mine with big hearts ,patience and a natural love and empathy to Nature, who have seen his playful , loving side too. Not easy .
Patience. Love. On Repeat.
Life’s like that. Surface reality is never the truth. We all learn that quickly growing up. We bend and twist and break ourselves for an outside mask to fit ,to get approval,to be popular ,liked , powerful . We feel alive and meaningful only then. Life has come to that now.
Maalto is as he is. A rainbow of shades and hues as life has happened to him. So are we all.
But he, unlike us , never hides.He is what he is. Loves unconditionally and is always there in the best of his capacity no matter what.Most animals have proved to be better than humans in life ,hardships and relationships .
How many of us can truly say we are better than him? And we consider ourselves higher ,sophisticated and more intelligent!!?
All the souls who I have been lucky enough to live with -two betas( Suki ,Sushi), two red eared sliders(Kiki, Zozo), four dogs (Suzy , Judy Bubbly ,Misha)have enriched my life as only such pure souls can. And now , so does Maalto, my boy. | Posted on 27/Dec/2025 12:23:58
