Jann Arden Instagram – March 8th- is #internationalwomensday2025 this is a photo of -Shirley Cuell, Shirley Varco, my mom and Freda Thomas. These were my moms best friends. She knew them for decades. They’re all gone now- off to better things- but their impact on me is woven into my life like a beautiful tapestry. These women endured myriad difficulties- cancer, shit marriages- troubled children, loss, grief, tragedy and triumph- but they did it together. I loved to hear them talk and laugh wildly in the other room while I lied in bed. I think these women showed me early on what friendship looked like- what loyalty looked like and how important empathy was.
