OCTOBER 2025: PERRIE Releasing a solo album has always been a priority for @perrieedwards, a creative milestone she has worked toward with quiet determination. In her MILKY cover story, @vasilipapathanasopoulos asks her how it feels to see her debut album, ‘Perrie,’ come to life as a complete body of work that truly reflects who she is as an artist? Her response is immediate and heartfelt. “I think I feel every emotion possible to feel in the human body,” she says. “I feel euphoria, I feel excitement, I feel relieved.” Her voice carries a sense of release, the kind that comes only after a long, uphill climb. She reflects on the journey to this point, one filled with delays and setbacks, and the significance of finally reaching it. “This is what I’ve cared the most about, is getting an album in the world,” she says. “I just wanted to be an album artist and have a body of work out there and it’s took me so long and there’s been so many hurdles and obstacles along the way that I’m like, ‘finally! It’s happening.’” There is a triumph in her tone, the kind born not from overnight success, but from years of resilience, patience, and an unwavering belief in the music she wanted to make. “When you come from a group dynamic, people already have an idea of what they want from you,” says Perrie. “[When first starting the album] I was trying to please everybody… [and] it didn’t feel fully, authentically me. “When I’m in sessions, it’s all about what I want to do and what do I bring to the table. It’s fun – but then it’s also quite scary and daunting because in Little Mix we had such a routine. Everything just clicked into place and it worked. When you go solo, you’re kind of starting from scratch.” As the singer launches a solo album she talks about losing a pregnancy after the final Little Mix tour, surviving the ‘X Factor’ machine, and the unbreakable bond that still unites band members.
