Rajshri Deshpande Instagram – These images is around 2015 to 2016 when after working for many months with the farmers I had finished my first River rejuvenation in Pandhari village, near Aurangabad, Marathwada. I was very happy and I thought everything will be better now but then here I am in 2025 still running around in different different villages and reviving rivers, building educational facilities, healthcare and systems for farmers from rural villages.
I felt tired, frustrated, hopeless, exhausted which I still feel but never ever wanted to give up the fight. I must have cried millions tears seeing the on ground issues, not getting funds for projects, right kind of support system but I had to take deep breath and carried on the fight.
When Today I see the same problems I feel when and how things will change…..
We must be seeing monsoons everywhere but many villages are still parched and don’t have water to even drink. Schools are there but kids are still in the farm working with their parents, kids wants to go to the schools but school building is dilapidated. Teachers are not there. Doctors are not there.
Most importantly Farmers are not there today who loves farming.
So The fight is not just with the system that million rivers are still not revived or schools needs to be built in villages but with every other humans from everywhere who forgotten the soil, climate, environment and about humanity which needs empathy, compassion, care and lot of work every single day with honesty.
