‘Warm Shadows’ by Aakash Chhabra is an exploration of longing, memory, and unspoken tensions through the lens of a mother-son relationship. The film is a revised excerpt from a feature-length screenplay Chhabra had written and explores his relationship with his mother and the questions he had about her life beyond the domestic role of motherhood. 🪣👚⁠

These dreams formed the basis of subtextual dialogue through which a mother indirectly discloses her queer sexuality. Such secrets emerge through a process of negotiating identities, through silence, coded behaviour, or double lives, Chhabra shared.⁠
