Everyone calls him “Anna” , which means big brother — and for me, that’s exactly who he’s been. My neighbour and someone who’s always had my back — no matter what.
Met a real-life hero today ( 31st July 2025 ) again 💥 I had to capture this moment as he wore the ACP uniform for the last time. A memory to cherish forever ❤️🙏🏻
His service to the nation has been unforgettable.
He gained fame for his fearless crackdown on Mumbai’s underworld, neutralising over 84 gangsters and contributing to several high-profile cases, including the Ambani bomb scare case
The underworld feared him, he helped clean up the streets when the city needed it most.
Though the world called him an “encounter specialist,” Daya Nayak never accepted that title . He always said he wasn’t trigger-happy but was forced to kill gangsters to prevent more “bloodshed and mayhem”.
His car was blown up in a bomb blast, several life threats still he remains unshakable. His life was so extraordinary that films like “Ab Tak Chhappan” and “Kagaar” were based on his real-life story — and the beloved CID character “Daya” was loosely inspired by him. But no screen portrayal can fully capture the strength, courage, and integrity of the real man behind it all.
