For the October issue of woman&home, we sat down with Charlotte Hawkins to chat about love, loss and leaving behind her inhibitions at 50. On set for our October cover, Charlotte opened up about initially feeling trepidation about turning 50 this year. “It doesn’t matter now,” she explained. “I went to work on my birthday. They decorated my dressing room and made a real fuss. We had cake, we went out for a glass of fizz after the show, Mark took me for a lovely lunch then we celebrated with Ella Rose in the evening. All my friends from university came around the following night for a dinner party, and we booked an amazing chef, then danced until the early hours.” The full, exclusive interview with Charlotte is out tomorrow (Thursday, August 28th) in woman&home magazine.

We caught up with Charlotte Hawkins to chat about pushing personal boundaries, her 50th birthday celebrations – including a big girls trip to Ibiza. “So I’ve actually been planning all my outfits now. I’ve kind of been going ‘yes, that will be great and that will be great as well,” Charlotte said of the outfits she wore on the set of our October shoot. “So I’ve got some amazing ideas for when I’m out on the dance floor or when I’m lounging around by the pool. It’s been absolutely perfect!” Charlotte’s woman&home cover story is out now, where you can hear more on how her confidence has changed with age, what it’s like working with her Good Morning Britain costars, and how she maintains an honest relationship with her daughter.
So sad to hear the news about Dame Jilly Cooper. She was a fabulous talent, an inspiration and such a lovely person, always with a smile on her face who brought so much joy to so many. I was thrilled to interview her last year for @itvracing and I’m so glad I got the chance to tell her what a legend I thought she was! She’ll be very much missed, love to all her friends & family ❤️
