Today I sat down with Pankaj Lamba, IPS, SP Pasighat, Garima, IPS, CO, 5th IRBn, Dr Akanksha, IPS, SDPO Pasighat, Ayup Boko, APPS, DSP(HQ), Amum Panyang, OC WPS and the entire team for a very special feedback program on “Project Muskaan”. East Siang Police has started a Child Safety Initiative named “Project Muskaan” from 11/11/25. It includes :- *Visits to schools by trained staff from PS and conduct of age appropriate sensitization to students on Good touch bad touch, POCSO & JJ Act, Bully prevention, Online & cyber safety. A weekly schedule is carved for each Police Station. *Awareness on Reporting: Sharing of Child Helpline 1098, Dial 112, Control room, OC numbers and other emergency numbers for easy reporting to kids. *Installation of Police Compliant Box in each school which will be opened weekly by designated police staff. *Weekly visits of Ane’s Home by school students to make them familiarised with child friendly nature of police working. Visits will be also be used to further sensitize them on child rights. *Regular Feedback and Training of Police staff to make Project more effective. As of today: School covered: 69 Students reached: * Primary 3803 * Class VI-XII: 4520 Police Compliant Box Installed: 55 Schools Feedback and Training of police team conducted: 03 Complaints received: 03 Case Registered: 01 I am so glad to be a part of such a nice initiative.
