Dentaa Instagram – “If we fail, we have failed generation upon generation and we cannot afford to do that.” — Ga Mantse
I was deeply honoured to accept a kind invitation from King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, to pay a courtesy visit last week, alongside my Board Chair, Yvonne Abba-Opoku, and Ellen Osei-Opoku of the GUBA team. @yaa.boatemaaaa @yvonneabbaopoku
I left inspired by the work of his foundation and by the powerful history he shared marking 200 years of peaceful coexistence between the Ga and Ashanti people, following reconciliation after the Katamanso War. It is a milestone I was previously unaware of, yet one that deserves to be preserved, taught, and celebrated.
During our conversation, I proposed educational programmes and creative productions as meaningful ways to honour this legacy and ensure younger generations understand the value of peace, unity, and shared history.
As I continue to say: development is not about people coming back to “help us” it is about collaboration, trade, and sustainable growth.
This remains at the heart of GUBA’s current 2026: from Diaspora to Development and investment.
Grateful for the wisdom, warmth, and vision shared.
