You might be younger,
yet you held space for me like an elder sister
feeding me care in between takes,
turning lunch breaks into laughter breaks.
You fought for the spot boys,
when asked twice,
fed the entire crew like a family feast
You took me to your Mamu ghara between the shots,
fed me your mother’s favourite Khiri and pithas,
dragged me on a spontaneous road trip to Balasore,
and insisted I taste your favourite dhaba
Watching you work is such a joy
and watching you speak Telugu blew my mind away.
Pissing you off got the entire set packed up
A story for another day
My Tomato Chakata and Pagaw partner at lunch,
My chatori buddy at snack time,
My constant entertainment on set.
It’s been a pleasure truly knowing and working with you as a co-actor.
